Sometime in February 1996, the organization of a cooperative was spearheaded by the incumbent Chairperson, Mrs. Carlota T. Valerio together with other employees of the Municipality of Orion, Bataan, with the primary aim of satisfying the financial needs of the municipality's regular employees.
Through their efforts and zeal to organize, the Orion Kawani Multi-Purpose Cooperative was registered on July 16, 1996 with the Cooperative Development Authority with thirty two (32) cooperators. It started with a paid-up share capital of Php 3,200.00 and an authorized capitalization of Php 51,200.00. It has headed by Mr. Guillermo P. Austria, the character chairman who is also the incumbent General Manager and Mr. Agustin Rodriguez, the former Municipal Agriculturist as the first General Manager, because both have acquired experience in credit union/cooperative. After fifteen (15) years in operation, the paid-up share capital increased to Php 5.173 M including the authorized capital that was raised to Php 15 M. Total membership also increased to 138 though still considered small.

MISSION: We, the ORION KAWANI MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE officers and members, commit ourselves to educate all members and the community, the objectives of cooperativism is to attain an improved quality of life.
VISION: The ORION KAWANI MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE envision to become a dynamic, service oriented cooperative with God-fearing and fully committed officers and members working towards a common goal, thus, attaining an improved quality of life of the cooperators and be of service of the community.
